Bowling @The Chevrons

It’s been a while since I last bowled. Can’t exactly remember the last time, but it must have been at least a couple of months. So last evening, I decided to go bowling with Zhihao.

Started the first game unsteadily with a 144. But subsequently, it was smooth throughout, with games of 212, 200, 179 and 184. Total pinfalls ended at 919, or an average of 183.8. Obviously, I’m very pleased with it. At least I could still maintain the form that I used to have, if not better. Hahaha…! The only downside was, blisters on my ring finger. :(

Bowling @Chevrons

It must have been more than a month since I last bowled. Hence, Zhihao and I took the chance today to visit Orchid Bowl @The Chevrons to have a bowling session. His friend, Ah Xiong, joined us, along with Roland, whom we met at the centre.

Not too bad I must say, as I managed to bowl an average of 183 pinfalls over five games (913 series). On the last match, we pooled for the highest pinfalls, and Zhihao luckily and coincidentally won… Hahahaha…! He forced me to put his win on my blog, so I must emphasize that he won it only by sheer luck! LOL!

Anyway, we had a great time, and it’s really heartening to see that I could still bowl! =P

My score, with initial 'D'

Zhihao's score with initial 'B L'. He forced to take this pic and upload it here!

Bowling @OBTC

It was such a super busy day at work yesterday that I almost found no time to even breathe! End up, I left the office at almost 7pm! Goshz!

Went down to Chevrons with Jackson at night to bowl, since we have the complimentary game coupons. Bowled a total of 5 games each, and registered a commendable 920 series (184 average). Not too bad, considering I really needed to relieve some of those stress in me. Hahaha! What a joy! =)

Bowling @OBTC

Just this evening, I went down to Orchid Bowl @The Chevrons with Jackson for some games of bowling. Roy joined us for the first two games, and I bowled a commendable 3-game series of 586 (174-203-209) for a 195.3 average. Not too bad, considering I haven’t been bowling for the past week due to exams. Hopefully, I will be able to do as well during the league tomorrow, if not better. Hehehe… =P

Chicken Bowl

Wednesday evening, a bunch of us including Alex, Elaine (Alex’s wife), Jamie, Lisa, Jenny and I went to this eating place called Sunset Grill & Pub located inside Seletar Camp. The exact location can be quite tricky, and it took us a few spinning arounds before we decided to follow one of the cars in hope that it was heading there. Indeed, our intuition was right, and we finally reached this secluded place.

The idea of eating there for dinner was for their popular Buffalo Wings, which come with 10 different degree of spiciness. We ordered a dozen of Level Ones first and a few other side dishes. It wasn’t really much of a kick, so we challenged ourselves to another half dozen of Level Threes. It was then that I felt the chilli whirling inside my stomach! It was really damn evil!

We stopped there at level three, and that was all we could take. LOL~

Last evening, Timothy, Fukuan, Zhihao and I bowled in the PBC Thursday League. I managed to do quite well, with lines of 182-166-212 for a 560 series (186.7 average). The rest of them had a pretty hard time on the lanes, and didn’t do as well. If my mental calculation is correct, I believe we lost the night’s games to our opponent. If there’s any consolation to the team, I won all my four points against my direct opponent. Hehehe… =X

Bowling @OBTC

Met up with Jackson and Zhihao at Orchid Bowl, The Chevrons last evening for a few games of bowling, partly also to warm up for this Thursday’s league. Personally, bowled a 4-game series and registered lines of 180-188-165-192 for a total of 725 pinfalls (average 181.25). Not too bad I must say, and I just hope that this form will continue on Thursday, if not better.

After that, we went over to a nearby coffee shop for supper, and headed for home. Blogging on this entry currently, and will be retiring for the night right now. Hahaha…! Good night. =)

Thu League @OBTC

The 4th PBC Thursday Foursome League commenced three weeks back, but this season round, it will be held at Orchid Bowl, The Chevrons instead of West Bowl. Reason? I’m not sure myself. Hahaha…!

Anyway, I know this is pretty late, but I bowled for the first time last Thursday, and scored a pathetic 511 series (148-184-179), averaging 170.33. Fukuan and Ah Han did superbly, ending the game with above 600 series. Zero handicap for them in their next session though… Hehehe.

For the great effort, our team managed to win 17 points out of 20 to stay on top of the league table. Total points won to-date; 48. Totally awesome!!!

QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup Day Two

After ending the first block of eight games in Day One of competition, and hanging in a weak 44th spot, Singapore’s Remy Ong continued his powerless Day Two with a disappointing 1,536 series, down 47 pins against the first day. This resulted in his sliding to a farther 49th position overall. He’ll probably need a miracle in tomorrow’s final 8-game block to advance to the next stage, where the top 24 bowlers will fight it out.

Turning our attention to the female squad, Singapore’s Bernice Lim bowled beautifully today, and managed to up her series from Day One’s 1,577 to 1,660, ending the day in an overall 18th position (202.31 average). Hopefully, she’ll be able to maintain or better her form tomorrow to see at least one Singaporean through to the next round.

Both the Malaysian host representatives are still very much in contention for the Top 24, with Siti Safiyah Amirah in 9th position, and Zulmazran Zulkifli in a convincing 3rd. Korea’s Choi Yong-Kyu is leading the men’s camp, while Zara Giles of England stands firm in pole position in the female squad.

The 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup continues tomorrow through Thursday at the 52-lane Melaka International Bowling Centre.

Just finished off our last lesson for this term, which was the module on Quantitative Skills. It was also the submission day for our team project, which carries a 30% weightage on the overall result. I’m praying and hoping that I’ll do well for the exams, which will happen on 2nd and 8th December for English Skills and Quantitative Skills respectively. I’ll also be taking a few days leave before the two examination days to prepare myself.

On a side note, the Singapore Bowling Federation has also updated my official average, and it increased by two pins to 172.44. Hehehe… Not too bad eh? Gotta try to maintain or better my average during the Thursday League at Orchid Bowl, The Chevrons. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a home ground advantage… LOL~

I was just looking at the results for the 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup held in Melaka, Malaysia, and noticed that Remy Ong is in 44th position, and Bernice Lim, 21st, after Day One of competition earlier today. Two more days to go, Team Singapore, and all the best to the both of you! Do Singapore proud okie? =P

School & Bowling

The Thursday that just passed was our last lesson for English Skills. Come Monday, it will be our last lesson for Quantitative Skills. Following that, our course will have a 2-week break before our exams for the two modules in early December.

On Thursday, during our English class, we got the result for our project work, and our group obtained 25 marks out of a possible 30, which is higher than what I expected! Hahaha… Well done team! Thanks for all the efforts put in. Now, we just need to score 25 marks (out of 70) for the exam, and we will pass the module! LOL~ Of course, I’m aiming for an ‘A’ lah! Hahahaha…. =X

Friday night, I went down to Chevrons to bowl with Jackson, and caught up with Roy as well, who is back to work at the proshop. Bowled a total of seven games, and registered decent scores of 211-156-165-177-215-203-174 for a 1,301 series (average 185.8). Three 200-games… Not bad huh?! Hahahaha…!

Alright, I guess I’ll be mugging soon for my exams during the next three weeks. Pray for me! =)
